Rev. Linda Barnes Popham

Linda Barnes Popham began her ministry at FCBC in March, 1983, as Minister of Music and Youth. Later her role transitioned to Minister of Music and Education and then Interim Pastor. She was called as Pastor in April, 1993. Linda, a native of Sheffield, Alabama, is a graduate of the University of North Alabama and of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Linda has served on church staffs in various capacities in Alabama and Kentucky since the age of 16. Linda married George Popham in October, 2001, and inherited two step-sons and grandchildren. Linda’s greatest desire is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others.

Nancy Kleehamer
Minister of Preschool

Nancy Kleehamer has been a member of Fern Creek Baptist Church since 2001 and has held the part-time position of Minister of Preschool since 2003.  She attended Western Kentucky University and Jefferson Community College.  She has a background in childcare, both as a teacher and as the director of a center for a national childcare chain.  Nancy currently works full-time in a medical practice in Louisville.  She has one son and four grandsons.

Joellen Johnston
Organist
Joellen Tyler Johnston joined the staff of FCBC in March, 2006.  She is a native of Louisville and lives in Jeffersontown with her husband, John.  Previously Joellen was the organist for ten years at Eastern Parkway Baptist and nearly eighteen years at Beechmont Baptist Church.  She is a graduate of the University of Louisville and a local historian who has been a regular history columnist for two Spencer County newspapers.  In 1997 she wrote Jeffersontown, Kentucky; The First 200 Years which was published by the city of Jeffersontown in celebration of their bicentennial.

Rev. Rocky Hardymon

Pianist

Rocky Hardymon began his piano ministry at Fern Creek Baptist Church in September, 2007. He and his wife, Teresa, are native Kentuckians. Rocky holds a Masters Degree in Piano Performance from Morehead State University, Morehead, Kentucky. He has taught privately since 1982 and also has nine years of teaching experience in instrumental and/or vocal music in Ohio and Florida school systems. Most recently, Rocky served for nine years as a Minister of Music in Eastern Tennessee. He has a self-titled CD that contains many of his own arrangements. Rocky is currently pursuing his doctorate in music from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. Through his music, it is Rocky’s desire that hearts will be uplifted and God’s name glorified. “Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.” Psalm 33:3

Bud Pennington
Bookkeeper

Bud Pennington and his wife, Brenda, have been members of Fern Creek Baptist Church since April, 1999.  He became the Bookkeeper in May, 2001.  Bud and Brenda have one child and three grandchildren.  Bud greatly enjoys being involved with the Kendall Optical Ministry which supplies eyeglasses for missions around the world. He is also a member of our Ministry and Missions Center Committee. Bud is a University of Louisville fan.  He also enjoys NASCAR races and country music shows.

Vicki Cassada
Custodian
Vicki Cassada has been our Church Custodian since 2004.  Vicki served in this same position many years ago, and with moving back to the area has been employed with us again. Vicki serves as chairperson of the Floral/Decorating Committee and is the coordinator of our church-wide camping trips. She is also a Floral Designer and loves to make floral arrangements for weddings. Vicki and her husband, David, have been married since 1981. They have two daughters, two granddaughters, and one grandson.
